Progetto Macroscuola ANCE:
sport regenerates the city

Data - 05/06/2024

The ninth edition of the Macroscuola competition promoted by the Youth of Ance (National Association of Builders) has come to an end.

More than 1,500 students from 200 secondary schools throughout Italy took part in the call for entries entitled ‘Sport regenerates the city’, drawing up projects for the recovery of disused or abandoned sports areas and infrastructures with the aim of making them sustainable and usable by citizens of all ages.

In the Parma area, thanks to the initiative of the ANCE Giovani Emilia-Romagna Group, the Laura Sanvitale Middle School (with its second classes) took part in the competition at regional level and on 29/05 had the opportunity to participate in the closing event at which the winners were declared.

Four pupils and two professors, accompanied by Michele Mingori, as representative of the ANCE Emilia-Romagna Youth Group, exhibited the winning project of the regional selection to the national jury at the ANCE headquarters in Rome.

The jury was composed of Alessandro Onorato, Councillor for Major Events, Sport, Tourism and Fashion of the Municipality of Rome, Francesco Ruperto, Director of Digital Governance Società Infrastrutture Milano Cortina 2026 Spa, and Anna del Sordo, Sport Engineering of Sport and Health Spa.

The competition was won by the Istituto comprensivo Supino di Morolo (Frosinone), but the young students of the Laura Sanvitale school nevertheless returned enthusiastic about their experience: “Participating in the final phase of Ance giovani’s Macroscuola competition,’ they chorally explained at the end of the event, “allowed us to identify ourselves with the role of young architects and designers, creators of positive changes in our city, guided by inspiring principles such as environmental sustainability, care for the urban landscape, and social inclusiveness”.
