A building site for excellence
Mingori Srl was awarded the contract for the renovation and adaptation of the Santa Maria al Mare Centre in Salerno on behalf of the Don Gnocchi Foundation, which is known for its excellence in the fields of neurological, motor and cardiorespiratory rehabilitation, as well as innovation in the medical and technological fields.
The Salerno centre will host a new Innovation Centre for Rehabilitation Robotics, named Centre of Excellence for Innovation in Rehabilitation Medicine with Robotics and Integrated Technologies (MedRehabRob). The project is part of a broader initiative, Fit For Medical Robotics, for the enhancement of pro-health technologies supported by the government, the Ministry of University and Research and the Ministry of Health in the PNC-PNRR programme.
This is a major investment that aims to make new robotic neuromotor rehabilitation systems available to frail people, suffering from chronic diseases, with disabilities, both paediatric and elderly, to improve their quality of life. Not only that, the project wants to build a real avant-garde research centre that will host clinical trials for the development of new technologies and robots of the future, allowing robot-assisted rehabilitation medicine to progress and to be increasingly tailored to the needs of patients.
In this direction, the project envisages that the Salerno Centre, in addition to being equipped with new technologies, will undergo major upgrades that will affect 690 square metres of floor space in an entirely dedicated pavilion. Activities that the Mingori Group will take care of.
